Purple Sun
Crissy and Guy Crubaugh lived in Somerset, Kentucky for 25 years. Part of their farm had beautiful, fuzzy Scottish Highland cattle. When they said “goodbye” to the last 2, they asked me if I wanted the heads. It was a great way to test my resolve in wanting to do this. I created Purple Sun for them as Purple Martins are Guy’s favorite bird and Sunflowers are Crissy’s favorite flower. I wanted to honour their memory of their farm once they sold it and moved on to other adventures.
